FMMLoader-26 (“FMML”, “the App”, “we”, or “us”) is an open-source, cross-platform mod management tool for Football Manager 2026. FMMLoader-26 is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Sports Interactive, SEGA, or any of their subsidiaries in any way.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the App processes, what it does not collect, how local data is handled, your rights under applicable laws (including GDPR), and how you may contact us.

1. Scope of This Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to:

The FMMLoader-26 desktop application
Any update check, version lookup, or asset retrieval performed by the app
Any optional user-provided diagnostic data
Users worldwide, including those located in the EU/EEA, the UK, and the United States

2. What Information the App Collects

2.1 Local Application Data (Stored Only on Your Device)

FMMLoader-26 stores certain data locally on your device as part of normal operation. This includes:

Application configuration files
Logs created for troubleshooting (which may include file paths, system folder names, or OS-related metadata)
Lists of installed mods or graphics packs

This local data is never transmitted to us unless you explicitly choose to share it, for example if you send logs to the developer during troubleshooting (e.g., via Discord direct message).

2.2 Automatic Update Check (Minimal Data Processing)

When checking for updates via the Tauri Updater, the App transmits:

Your operating system type (e.g., macOS, Windows, Linux)
Your current app version

This information is used solely to:

Determine whether an update is available
Provide the correct build for your operating system

No unique identifiers, personal information, or telemetry are collected.

2.3 No Personal Data Collection by Default

FMMLoader-26 does not collect:

Names
Email addresses
Account IDs
Location data
IP addresses
Analytics or usage tracking
Device identifiers or fingerprints

3. Optional User-Provided Diagnostic Data

If you choose to request help from the developer, you may voluntarily provide:

Log files
Screenshots
Descriptions of issues
File paths related to mods or game folders

This data is shared only at your discretion, typically via Discord.

4. Data Retention

Since FMMLoader-26 does not collect or store personal data by default:

No personal data is retained on our systems.
Any diagnostic data voluntarily provided will be deleted upon request.

Local configuration and logs stored on your device remain under your control.

5. Future Features

We may introduce optional features in the future such as:

Cloud sync
User profiles
Online storage of mod configurations

If such features are added, they will be strictly opt-in, and this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect what data is collected, how it is used, and the legal basis for processing.

Users will be notified of changes via the FMMLoader website and GitHub Releases.

For users located in the EU/EEA or the United Kingdom, FMMLoader-26 processes data under the following legal bases:

Legitimate Interest: To check for updates and ensure delivery of the correct OS-specific version of the App.
Consent: For any diagnostic data you voluntarily choose to provide.
Contractual Necessity (if applicable): For providing requested technical support at your request.

7. Third-Party Services

FMMLoader-26 uses the following third-party services:

7.1 GitHub (Version Updates & Asset Delivery)

The App requests update metadata via GitHub Releases to determine whether a new version exists.

GitHub may process limited metadata such as standard web server logs as described in their own privacy policy. We do not control their data practices and you should review GitHub’s Privacy Statement.

7.2 External Mod or Graphics Pack Hosts

FMMLoader-26 may provide links to third-party download locations for mods or graphics packs. No information is transmitted to these sites by the App. All downloads occur directly between you and the hosting provider.

FMMLoader-26 has no affiliation with these third-party hosts.

We do not:

Sell personal data
Share personal data with advertisers
Share data with analytics companies
Track user behavior or interactions

We may receive diagnostic files that you voluntarily send, but these are used solely for troubleshooting.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 16 (or under 13 where applicable). We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

If you believe a minor has provided diagnostic information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Security

We take your privacy and security seriously. Measures include:

Using HTTPS for update checks and asset retrieval
Not collecting persistent identifiers or telemetry
Storing all configuration and logs locally on your device, under your control
Recommending users keep their OS and FMMLoader-26 updated

Despite these steps, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

11. International Users

The developer is located in the United States. By using FMMLoader-26, you acknowledge that your limited update-check data (OS type and version) may be processed on servers located outside your country.

We comply with GDPR requirements when processing any data from EU/EEA/UK users.

12. Your Rights (EU/EEA/UK Users)

Even though the App collects extremely minimal data, you retain all rights provided under GDPR, including:

Right of Access – to know what (if any) data we hold
Right to Rectification – to correct inaccurate data
Right to Erasure – to request deletion of any diagnostic information you provided
Right to Restrict or Object – to limit processing
Right to Data Portability – if applicable
Right to Withdraw Consent at any time

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. If changes are made, we will:

Update the “Last Updated” date at the top
Post an announcement on the FMMLoader-26 website
